The Backstory

"Why I Wrote this E-Book"

Hi, I’m Brad Hildebrand. I'm a self confessed radio geek. I started my career when I was 17.

I started out as a DJ. Back in the day all radio stations, even music stations like the Top 40 station where I worked were required to run a certain amount of local talk programming to keep the station's license.

None of the other DJ's on the station wanted to do a talk show. Why? Back in the day we were mostly format jocks which meant you read liner cards and said Hey, another ten hits in a row is coming right up and play the songs. They just wanted to read the liners and listen to the music.

Who want's to talk for four hours? That's what my program director asked at one of our staff meetings. Guess who raised his hand? And I'm glad I did.

Fast forward several decades and along comes podcasting. But what really is podcasting? IT IS TALK RADIO!
